ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for someone to set up and lead the business development function at Kin&Co, covering strategy, team capacity building and most of all, relentless, energetic networking to generate new business opportunities.
You will be responsible for the business development strategy, building your team, and most importantly bringing in and converting large-scale leads from FTSE 250 businesses and leading organisations to the business (each circa. £500K-£2 million), through your existing networks and/or new opportunity spotting. You’ll be a keen, energetic and passionate networker, using your relationship-building skills to bring in new leads within the strategy, transformation, culture, communications and sustainability sectors.
You will oversee our business development strategy, including reputation, client advocacy, marketing, CRM and business development tools. You will lead the company to help every individual do the same, holding each individual to account and making the most of the team’s passion and energy.
You are tenacious and can be relied upon to make stuff happen, independently. You have a natural skill for business development and building strong relationships because you love connecting the dots, solving problems and making people happy. You can spot a trend or opportunity, then take ownership to act quickly and effectively.
Skills and competencies:
Proven track record of generating and nurturing large-scale new business leads within consultancy environments with a track record of strong profit-based results
A little black book of relevant contacts, prospects and leads and a history of strong relationships
Able to follow leads through to pitch stage by converting conversations, drafting spot-on strategic proposals and finding innovative ways to get in the door
Experience in developing new business strategies that lead to results and significant profit increases
Leadership and gravitas with senior business figures: confidence and ability to have an insightful conversation with business leaders and the ability to rally, inspire and support the team to take responsibility and understand the role they play.
An understanding of our business: 10+ years experience working in communications, transformation, culture change or sustainability in a fast paced, dynamic environment, including agency or consultancy experience.
A passion for making the world a better place, especially through purpose driven business.
Innate curiosity: a natural interest in different businesses and organisations, what makes them tick, how Kin&Co could help them – a flair for deep understanding of what potential clients need and want.
A good nose for trends: lateral thinking about the wider social context and marketplace in order to make the most of opportunities the moment they arise.
